3D PRINTED OBJECT ORGANIC FORMS.  I started generating ideas around organic forms. Letting my pen do a lot of the work and repeating shapes to mimic the copy feature on Rhino.  I was a big fan of the hand idea, and so was Christine so we went and  designed our individual parts and met up the next week.  Our two designs merged quite well and we went for a design that was really eccentric and wild. It made us both laugh when we combined all our elements which we thought was a good reaction.

PAPER CRAFT PROJECT:   COMPLETED I INCREASED THE SIZE OF THE BUILD, ELIMINATING THE EYES DUE TO THE SUGGESTION DURING OUR BRAINSTORM SESSION WITH THE CLASS. IT MADE THE “CAT-NESS” REALLY SHINE IN THE OBJECT.  IM PLEASED WITH HOW SIMPLE THE FORM IS WHILE STILL ALSO BEING CAT LIKE.

Conclusion: Hari and Deepti’s work have opened up so many new concepts for me regarding my own art practice. However once I’m able to see the process we have to take in Rhino through this project to achieve our cutouts, then I will be able to figure out where I can take my ideas. I know at this point that I would enjoy doing a storytelling aspect around this project inspired by Hari and Deepti’s work. With some of the sensibilities of Nahoko Kojima’s designs, because they are awe inspiring. Like this detail from Snow Leopard by Nahoko Kojima

OBJECT PROJECT #1

Object Project One           i.           My first concept of the grim fisherman riding a demon fish was not rendering properly.       ii.           After multiple iterations of my first design, I had overloaded the program to where I received a [Not Responding] message every time I had to render the object. I altered my design last minute and imported new objects into Rhino within a new project file to complete a final render.       iii.           I believe due to altering the object files in TinkerCad it had created such a complex mesh that by the time it come to render the object it would jam up the program due to is 10000’s of triangles. Using the files directly from turbo squid was way smoother.      iv.           Me having to do less editing and simplifying the steps I took to alter the pre-made objects in Rhino made for a better render!     THE FINAL RENDERS
